IPAF training for operators of working platforms
Although there is still no official working platform driver's license, there are still clear rules and regulations that are binding for employers and operating personnel. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Act (§§ 7 and 12) and the Industrial Safety Ordinance, as well as the corresponding technical rules for industrial safety (TRBS 2111), every working platform operator must prove his or her qualifications.
We are a licensed IPAF education and training center. You can acquire the international PAL (Powered Access License) certificate from us.
As operator training, the IPAF training program corresponds to the procedures of the standard "ISO 18878: 2004 Mobile work lifting platforms - operator training (driver)". So far it is the only training program that has been tested and confirmed by TÜV, as a recognized German certification authority. It corresponds to the new professional association principle DGUV 308-008 (formerly BGG 966).
Our qualified IPAF trainers train the participants in all regulations for the safe operation of aerial work platforms. Potential hazards and behaviors in the event of malfunctions on the work platform are illustrated in theory and practice, as well as points of health and safety at work.
The one-day IPAF training is divided into:
- theoretical training (approx. 4 hours)
- written final exam
- practical training (approx. 2 - 3 hours depending on the machine type)
- practical final examination
After successful training and testing, a PAL card is issued as proof of qualification, as well as a certificate. The license is valid for 5 years and can extended will. Please note the information on digital licenses in the IPAF ePAL app.
Training language:
The course is conducted in German as standard, so good knowledge of spoken and written German is essential. With a group size of 6 participants, we also offer the training in English or Polish. Alternatively, with this group size, you can hire an interpreter who will simultaneously translate the course into your desired language. It is important that the interpreter is familiar with the translation of specialist and technical terms used in the aerial work platform industry. Questionnaires are available in many languages for the theoretical test. The interpreter cannot be a participant in the course at the same time. As required, aerial platform operators can be trained in the following IPAF training categories. All categories can be trained within one day. We would be happy to advise you on your choice.

- (3a) Scissor work and telescopic mast platforms (movable from above)

Typical daily routine of an IPAF operator training
During training sessions in our house, the participants are fully catered for. We serve breakfast and lunch, as well as cold and hot drinks. To maintain the quality standard of our IPAF trainings, we recommend 8 participants per day.
