The basic training course for new operators lasts 2 days; experienced telescopic forklift operators with at least one year of practical experience need only one day of training. The operating certification for telescopic forklifts does not expire. However, under Section 12 of the Occupational Safety Act (ArbSchG), every employer is required to have asafety briefingconducted at least once a year.

• Use with a load, fork tines, shovel, hook
• Driving along predetermined, marked routes with obstacles

After successfully completing the basic training, participants have the opportunity to gain certification in the following advanced training courses:

Step 2a) Rotatable Upper Structure

DIN EN 1459-2– Operators of telescopic forklifts witha rotating upper carriagemust provide proof of completion of the Level 2a supplementary qualification course, as operating this equipment involves additional hazards. Course participants must successfully pass both a theoretical and a practical final exam to receive a certificate.

Level 2b) Use with a work basket

DIN EN 1459-3– If telescopic forklifts are used as aerial work platforms, operators must enroll in the Level 2b supplementary training course and successfully complete both the theoretical and practical components, just as with Level 2a. However, if they hold a valid PAL card for categories 1b / 3b (IPAF operator training), Level 2b can be certified, and no separate training is required.

If you book the basic telescopic forklift training and the additional course on the rotating upper carriage at the same time, you’ll receive a 10% discount on the training fees. Simply specify “Combination Package” when you book.

This certificate of qualification is valid only within Germany. It does not have an expiration date.

Language of instruction:

The course is conducted in German by default, so a good command of spoken and written German is required. For groups of 6 participants, we also offer the training in Polish. Alternatively, for this group size, you can hire an interpreter to provide simultaneous interpretation into the language of your choice. It is important that the interpreter is familiar with translating specialized and technical terms used in the telehandler industry. The interpreter may not be a participant in the course at the same time.
