Mobile aerial work platforms have been developed for people who have to work in high positions. Work can be carried out safely from the working cage of the aerial work platform. However, aerial work platforms should cannot be used for thisto the basket to leave in height. For example, people must not be transported from one level to another with the aid of an aerial work platform. Both entry and exit from the basket should only take place on the ground and only via the designated access.
Getting out of a raised work basket is only exceptionally permissible,
- if the hazard analysis shows that this is the safest way of access to a specific place of work or
- if this is provided for in a formal emergency plan.
