History Cramer Baumdienst

Our family-run company, which was founded in 60 by Peter Cramer, has existed for 1962 years. At that time, the company specialized in logging and transporting wood with only three employees. The company has grown continuously over the past few years and now has over 115 employees. Peter Cramer GmbH & Co. KG is one of the leading work platform rental companies in Germany.

 

1962 Founding as a single company by Peter Cramer in Plettenberg / Sauerland - Business content: Wood work and transports of wood. 3 employees
1970 Change of service areas in tree service = execution of tree care, tree surgery, felling and planting work for municipalities and road construction administrations. Rental of truck work platforms for the municipal area - first 3, later approx. 30 devices. Later branch in Hamburg and bases in Wiesbaden a. Dusseldorf. After studying, his wife Marie-Luise Cramer started as an office manager / authorized signatory. only 5, later 20 employees
1977 Acquisition of 2 bridge inspection equipment - use for bridge inspections and repair work for road and motorway administrations.  
1982 Move from Plettenberg to Hagen. Construction of the company with 2 workshops (700 + 900 sqm), office and residential building. Founding of the Department of Construction and Development of Bridge Monitoring Devices. Expansion of rental on 50 work platforms. 35 employees
1984 Change of business form to Cramer GmbH. Expansion of the mechanical engineering division. Export of approx. 20 bridge survey equipment to European countries, Africa and the USA. Production of 15 bridge inspection equipment for the own renting department.  
1988 Change of business form to Peter Cramer GmbH + Co. KG.  40 employees
1990 Development and construction of stationary bridge inspection trolleys, suspended scaffolding and inclined cableway systems.
Establishment of a tree service in Meißen.
50 employees
1997 Expansion of work platforms rental on approx. 140 machines.  
2002 Admission of the son, Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieur Till Cramer, to the company. Expansion of the rental area on telescopic loaders. Setting up the tree service in the new federal states.  
2004 Admission of the daughter, Dipl.-Kauffrau Annekathrin Schumacher-Cramer, to the kfm. Management. Joining the Schwiesersohn, Dipl.-Kaufmann Jan Schumacher, as a division manager of the work platforms rental. Expansion of the machine park to 2010 on 750 rental machines. Setting up the tree service. 60 employees
2005 Opening of the training center for IPAF operator and instructor training, as well as safety briefings and training for fork and telescopic forklift drivers, as well as leaders of Hallenkranen.  70 employees
2009 Move of the work platforms Rental, disposition, maintenance and repair in the newly created hall 3 (size 2.500 sqm).  
2012 50 anniversary of the company  80 employees
2013 Expansion of the equipment park via 1.000 rental equipment, 14 semi-trailer loaders and three solo vehicles, program extension Forklift trucks for industry and terrain  90 employees
2015 Expansion of the equipment park via 1.200 rental equipment and 17 semi-trailer loaders  95 employees

2016

Joachim Schumacher-Cramer, Dipl.-Kauffrau Annekathrin Schumacher-Cramer, and Schwiegersohn, Dipl.-Kaufmann Jan Schumacher, as a shareholder and managing director in Peter Cramer GmbH + Co. KG. Management of the bridges department by son Dipl.-Wirtschaftsingenieur Till Cramer.
Expansion of the equipment park to over 1.300 devices. Introduction of telehandler training acc. new DGUV principle 308-009.

Expansion of the portfolio to include the rental of roofing cranes and 32 m high-bay scissor lifts  

2021

Expansion of the equipment park to over 1.600 rental machines 115 employees

2022

60 anniversary of the company

Expansion of the training offering to include mobile crane, load securing and sling training

 

2023

Big anniversary celebration for the 60th anniversary with almost 1.000 guests

Promotion of employee Tamara Twardoch as Training Center Manager

Promotion of the employee Marcel Kummer as sales manager for work platforms and forklifts
