Telehandler basic training
DGUV Principle 308-009 was passed in spring 2016 and is a supplement to DGUV Principle 308-001 - training and commissioning the drivers of industrial trucks. The certificate of proficiency in operating telescopic forklifts must be acquired during a basic telescopic forklift training course.
The training with a theoretical and practical part is aimed in particular at:

Training language:
The course is conducted in German as standard, so good knowledge of spoken and written German is essential. With a group size of 6 participants, we also offer the training in English or Polish. Alternatively, with this group size, you can hire an interpreter who will simultaneously translate the course into your desired language. It is important that the interpreter is familiar with the translation of specialist and technical terms used in the telehandler industry. The interpreter cannot be a participant in the course at the same time. The basic training for newcomers lasts 2 days, experienced telehandler drivers need at least one year of training for at least one year of practical experience. The operator authorization for telehandlers does not lose its validity. However, every employer is obliged to do so according to §12 ArbSchG, at least once a year Safety training to have carried out.

- Load center point diagram, weight distribution
- Commissioning of the telescopic forklift

- Stopping from predefined, marked routes with obstacles

- Disabling the telescopic forklift
- Practical final examination
After successful completion of the basic training, the participants have the opportunity to be enabled in the following additional qualification courses:
Level 2a) Rotating upper car
EN-1459 2 - Drivers of telescopic forklifts with revolving superstructure must prove their participation in the 2a additional qualification course, as there are additional hazards when using these equipment. The trainees must pass a theoretical and a practical final exam to obtain a certificate.
Level 2b) Use with working basket
EN-1459 3 - If telescopic forklifts are used as aerial work platforms, the drivers must take part in the additional qualification course for level 2b and, as with level 2a, successfully complete this in theory and practice. However, if you have a valid PAL card for categories 1b / 3b (IPAF operator training), level 2b can be certified and there is no need for separate training.

This certificate of qualification is only valid within Germany. There is no expiration date.
