The IPAF training courses are divided into the following categories:
IPAF category 1a - Static Vertical - Vertical Passenger Lifts (with Supports)
IPAF category 1b - Static boom - Self-propelled boom lifts with supports, trailer and truck lifting platforms
IPAF category 3a - mobile vertical - scissor lifts and vertical passenger lifts (movable from above)
IPAF category 3b - Mobilboom - Self-propelled articulated and telescopic work platforms (movable from above)
The categories are graphically displayed on the IPAF poster.
